Hi Pauline - welcome. I am not such a veteran of this site either, but have found that the people here are a very diverse and genuine bunch.
I am open to both friendship and relationship - and I think that this probably the best way to go.
I have had conversations with some lovely, genuine men and can well believe that Holy Spirit might 'blow' on one of those relationships. But even if He does not, I have made some great friends.
I have also had conversations with some women my age, and some younger men and women too - and have had the absolute privilege of praying with some of them.
My hope is that you too will find the same sense of community on this site as I have done. Feel free to contact if you see me on-line.

Hi Cheryl!! Thank you so much for your warm welcome. To be quite honest I cant wait to start talking and sharing more about our Lord. I have already read one post that was so wonderfully written re: relationships based on 1 Corinthians 13. Very nice to see the Word being shared :-)
Is there chat on here? you mentioned something about being on-line ... if so, i luv chats lol. do i hav to pay to gain access to that feature? still havent had time to actually read through what features are available.

Pauline, you can access chat in your first week for free, it's the introductory deal. After that you have to be a member to chat and send emails, but you can still wave and post on the boards - or at least you could about a month ago when I joined. :) Great to have you here, welcome! (So get chatting now! lol)

I agree with Pauline. ...no woman is EVER past her 'use by date'! (and yes, I DO have a vested interest in believing that too, as I am in the 'next age bracket' to you.) - but truly, I think that if someone thinks that about me, then they are rather superficial and missed the best of me.
Besides, I have not long finished reading an article that was talking about how things have changed, and that people aren't as worried about age as they were in past generations and all sorts of matches are happening these days. It depends what you are wanting out of relationship. And I am finding that is true. I am thoroughly enjoying meeting people of both genders and all ages on this site - and I feel truly blessed to have a wider circle of friends than I have ever had before. (and who knows...one of my younger friends may have a cute single daddy!!) - JOKING
I am hopeful of course that I will also find 'mr right' here too but my 'criterea' for friendship is far broader than that for my life partner. - and so I am having a wonderful time talking, and listening and learning....and letting Holy Spirit move where He pleases.
So don't hold back...there are probably people on this site who would LOVE to have a conversation with you-but they may be holding back because, like you they are waiting for someone ELSE to make the first move. So jump right in and meet some of these wonderful people.
hey all. am completely new here and just wanted to say a quick hello and find out from you all how you find the site? i really dont know what to expect, so any tips and/or suggestions would be nice. im firstly looking for:
Yarns and conversations about He who created us all. I love sharing the word and hearing from others who may have received new revelations about Him. I had joined an online forum and it was great, very busy and active, but then everything seemed to go haywire, a lot of fighting between members etc. i havent been back and havent found a forum yet to join.
Making online christian friends. I have my church friends but you cant call them at all hours of the night when u get excited about something you've just read lol, at least here hopefully I can leave/post a note and someone can chat back :p
Also looking at possibly meeting "the one". In my "wandering" days when I did not have a personal relationship with the Lord I married an unsaved man. We were together for 12 years and he decided to leave. Now, 3 years later I am ready to find someone ...
so any suggestions -- let me know :p ....
